MPOT is one of Australia’s leading occupational-therapy management companies, specialising in helping individuals and companies achieve good health and receive quality rehabilitation and risk management programmes.
“We see a wide range of clients,” explains founder Marilyn Pattison “A number of our occupational therapists are involved with clients who have severe workplace injuries or injuries from motor vehicle crashes. We also work with employers to prevent workplace injury.”
Founded in 2004, Lyndoch-based MPOT was recently named as a finalist in the Workcover Recovery and Return to Work awards for the second year in a row, and Marilyn recently received the Sylvia Docker Award – the highest award for contribution to the profession of Occupational Therapy in Australia. Suffice it to say that MPOT is going from strength to strength.
“Working with Richard Perkins and Hayes Knight has really helped us to focus on our business strengths and overcome our weaknesses,” says Marilyn. “Richard is a tremendous mentor and supporter and he has really made the difference with our commercial confidence.”
Richard himself adds, “Working closely with Marilyn and MPOT, we produced a strategic plan and monitored that plan’s progress with monthly management meetings. MPOT’s greatest resource is its people, so we put a particular focus on fine-tuning human-resource policies and internal feedback processes.”
So did it work? “Put it this way,” says Marilyn. “Before we came to Hayes Knight we were considering closing one of our offices. Now we’re looking for more space! And Richard… that man is a saint!” she laughs.
