In November 2007 Robertsons Chartered Accountants changed its name to become a part of the Hayes Knight national network of accounting firms. This change marked an exciting new chapter in our forty year history providing us with a strong platform to pursue and implement key strategic benefits for the firm. While we remain the same boutique, independently owned and operated accounting firm, this new alliance with Hayes Knight keeps us at the forefront of business solutions and provides us with more resources, capacity and capability to meet the changing needs of our clients.

The origins of Hayes Knight (QLD) are from a family owned business set up forty years ago. Because of these origins we are very tuned to helping small business and are adept at looking after the needs of individual family members in taxation and succession planning.

We pride ourselves in our small practice culture, believing in and upholding the values of small professional practices such as the high level of confidentiality in dealing with clients financial affairs, yet we are large and experienced enough to handle complex accounting and taxation issues. This comes from the backgrounds of the partners Mr Ken Robertson and Mr Tony Thomas.

Ken Robertson has had over 30 years working in this practice while Tony Thomas has worked for large accounting firms, multinational corporations and government. This blend of experience has come together to form the basis of our firm today. Both Ken’s and Tony’s wives, Ann-Maree and Joy who are both qualified accountants, are also involved in the practice. Ann-Maree is a director in the audit division while Joy is involved in project work as well as the internal accounting for the practice.

Because of our size (currently 25 on the team) and experience we are able to offer our clients a wide range of services. This includes financial planning where the team bring to the practice many years experience in the field of financial planning and are a valuable addition to the team at Hayes Knight (QLD).
