Knowledge Shop – the adviser’s adviser
There is a good reason why over 500 accounting practices across Australia are members of Knowledge Shop – to give their team access to the skills, resources, and expertise they need, when they need them.
We act a bit like a big brother to Australian Accounting practices. Through the Knowledge Shop membership, we provide Accountants with key resources and access to professional technical support that helps them to cut down on research time, improve quality control throughout their practice, and help manage work flows.
Merit Wealth
By accountants for accountants. Merit Wealth is a purpose designed financial planning service supporting accounting firms delivering financial planning advice to their clients.
Merit Wealth’s objective is to position accountants as the primary source of financial planning advice for their clients. The accountant, as the trusted adviser, is uniquely placed to bring together financial planning, taxation, superannuation, succession planning, risk management and wealth protection. And, the Merit Wealth approach is to provide accountants with the support necessary to bring all of these services together in an efficient way.
The Merit Wealth philosophy is built around the values of respect, protect and reward. These values apply equally to the accountant as the adviser, and their clients
Superssentials
The regulators and professional bodies have ‘lifted the bar’ for practitioners providing audit services to SMSFs with competency standards, the ATO ‘audit the auditor’ program, minimum ongoing professional development requirements…and this is only the beginning.
Auditing of SMSFs is fast becoming a specialist area. You need a sound knowledge of the auditing standards and to be up to date on all of the requirements of SIS. This, together with the independence issue, means that some accounting firms are looking for an effective outsource solution.
Through Hayes Knight, superssentials provides specialist teams who only work in the SMSF compliance area. And, like most things, when it is the only thing you do, you become very good at it.
Training
The practical way we approach our work is also what makes the Hayes Knight team insightful speakers. The team deliver a multitude of presentations across the country and internationally at any one time for the professional accounting bodies, for industry, and for Government.
Hayes Knight NSW won a contract with the NSW Department of State & Regional Development to create, develop, and deliver a training program to assist small and medium sized businesses to better understand their business needs and capitalise on their opportunities. The training program took participants through a business needs assessment, decision making pathway, and an assessment of their sale and succession needs.
We also recently designed and delivered the Audit of SMSF training program for CPA Australia. Hosted by CPA Australia, the training sessions deliver a thorough overview of the obligations and requirements of SMSF auditors and some of the practical issues in the superannuation space.
