Like many businesses, our origins were small.  Back in the early 1980s when shoulder pads were popular and the Ford/Holden debate was in full swing, Greg Hayes started a one-man practice, JG Hayes & Co, in Campbelltown on the outskirts of Sydney.

By the early '90s the firm had progressed to a small partnership structure and established the Hayes Knight name and brand. This led to the establishment of an office in the Sydney CBD.

Recognising the increasing needs of business Hayes Knight expanded its service offering to provide a range of advisory services in addition to strong compliance services support. These services were delivered to businesses throughout Australia, including the provision of specialist support services to other accounting firms.

Moving to a corporate structure in the early 2000's Hayes Knight, through its directors and their teams, provides a range of accounting and taxation services typically required by all businesses together with a number of specialist service areas designed to meet all stages in the lifecycle of businesses and their owners.
